LE MARS, Iowa -- Tiffany Nicole Blau, 24, of Ames, Iowa, formerly of Le Mars, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, George, Iowa, with the Rev. Rick Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will resume 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Bolin Funeral Home in George. Arrangements are under the direction of Bolin Funeral Home.

Tiffany was born Aug. 9, 1978, in Le Mars, the daughter of Wendell and Becki (Swenson) Blau. She graduated from Le Mars Community High School in May 1997. She then continued her education at Iowa State University in Ames, graduating in December 2001, with majors in psychology and sociology. She was pursuing a career in social work.

She was a very loving and vibrant person, who radiated an abundance of zest for life. She was a loving and devoted mother, who cherished every moment with her daughter. She was be remembered for her quick smile and gentle heart. She will be deeply missed by a multitude of friends and family.

She leaves behind her 4-month old daughter, Alexis Mariah; her significant other, Joshua Pickrell of Ames; her maternal grandmother, Lois Swenson of Stewartville, Minn.; her brother, Jason Blau and his family, Julie Munson and Tristan Blau of Sioux City; her father, Wendell Blau of Le Mars; her mother, Becki Blau of Phoenix, Ariz.; and her life-long friend, Alanna Holtz of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bernard and Ann Blau; and her maternal grandfather, Paul Swenson.
