KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Olivia L. Bauerly, 78, of Kingsley, formerly of Sioux City, died unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at her residence in Kingsley.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kingsley, with the Rev. Thomas J. Topf officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation begins at 2 p.m. today, with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a wake service at 7 p.m., at Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Olivia "Babe" Baack was born Nov. 9, 1923, in rural Ireton, Iowa, the daughter of William and Olivia (Kaiser) Baack. She attended school in Le Mars, Iowa, graduating from Central High School. She married Clifford Bauerly on Oct. 5, 1942, in Le Mars. After their marriage, Olivia and Clifford farmed in the Bronson, Iowa, area for 30 years before retiring to Sioux City in 1982. Olivia worked at F.W. Woolworth and Erwin Weller Company in Sioux City. Her husband Clifford died March 5, 1993.

She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed boating, fishing, dancing and traveling.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharry Uhl and her husband, Francis of Kingsley; five grandchildren, Kevin Uhl and his wife, Carrie of Seattle, Wash., Paul Uhl and his special friend, Vanessa of Des Moines, Iowa, Laura Phelps and her husband, Scott of Kingsley, Michael Uhl and his wife, Anna of Garretson, S.D., and Kimberly Cooprider and her husband, Shane of Walker, Iowa; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Vicki Christensen of Granville, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Clifford, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ray Baack; and three sisters, Mildred Haag, Lucille Haag and Vera Carel.
