GEORGE F. BUNJES
George Friederich Bunjes, 81, a resident of LeMars for 45 years, died Tuesday (June 17, 1975) at his home at 707 2nd Ave., SE after a long illness.
Mr. Bunjes was born March 28, 1894, in Varel, Germany. He arrived in the United States in May, 1930, from Germany and has since lived here. He was a retired carpenter and cabinet maker.
His marriage to Gesine Wilhelmine Braams took place Nov. 6, 1916, in Zetel, Germany. He was the son of Wilhelm and Johanne Rosenboom Bunjes.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars with Rev. James W. Rassbach officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens under direction of the Mauer funeral home in LeMars.
Mr. Bunjes was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife, Gesine; two sons, Walter G. Bunjes and Heino B.G. Bunjes, all of LeMars; three daughters, Mrs. Vetor (Wilma) Vets and Mrs. Arnold (Hildegard) Hammond, both of Sioux City, and Mrs. Gilbert (Mary) Morfitt, Faribault, Minn.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
