MRS. GEORGE BORCHERS

Mrs. George (Katherine) D. Borchers, 85, lifelong Plymouth County resident, died Friday (Jan. 4, 1980) at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after a brief illness. She had been hospitalized five days.

Katherine Hauschild was born June 3, 1894, in Plymouth County to John and Rieka Siebels Hauschild. She lived her entire life on a farm in Liberty township until retiring to LeMars in 1951.

She married George Borchers Feb. 20, 1924, at rural LeMars.

She was a member of the St. John’s American Lutheran Church here.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. John’s American Lutheran church with Rev. Thomas Lee and Rev. David Kramer officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and a sister, Emma.

Survivors are her husband, George Borchers, LeMars; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Mildred) Moir, rural Merrill; four grandchildren and a brother, John D. Hauschild, LeMars.
