GEORGE BORCHERS

George Borchers, 89, Plymouth County native and lifelong resident, died Friday (April 22, 1983) at Brentwood Care Center where he had lived the past four years.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 25, at St. John’s American Lutheran Church, LeMars. Rev. David Kramer will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens under direction of the Mauer Funeral Home.

George John Emil Borchers was born April 20, 1894, in Plymouth County to Benherd H. and Pauline Becker Borchers. He farmed in Liberty Township, rural LeMars, until retirement to LeMars in 1951.

His marriage to Katherine Haushchild took place Feb. 20, 1924, at rural LeMars. He was a member of St. John’s Church, LeMars.

Survivors are his daughter, Mrs. Don (Mildred) Moir, Route 2, Merrill; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild; three sisters, Anna Borchers, Mrs. Katherine Ohlrichs and Mrs. Oscar (Margaret) Peters, all of LeMars.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine, who died Jan. 4, 1980, a son and a brother, Herman.
