ELMER BOGH

Elmer M. Bogh, 72, of rural LeMars, died of a heart attack Thursday, April 7, 1988, at his farm home near Remsen.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 11, at St. Paul Lutheran Church here. Rev. Myron Herzberg officiated. Burial was in the Resthaven Cemetery, LeMars, under direction of the Moeller Funeral Home.

Mr. Bogh was born September 4, 1915, at Remsen, the son of Marius and Anna Marie (Schmidt) Bogh. He attended school in Fredonia Township, and later the Remsen Public School.

He served in the Army during World War II, with two years service overseas. He was part of the European invasion and served in the anti-aircraft and heavy artillery divisions.

His marriage to Myrne Detloff take place January 4, 1949, at Remsen. They farmed north of Remsen until retiring in 1980, at which time they moved to a home north of LeMars.

He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and a member of the church choir, served on the church council for many years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of LeMars. He was an avid sportsman, having spent much time hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Myrne; a sister, Mrs. Leo (Dorothy) Cassidy of Remsen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers were: Dr. Dale Drum; Richard Erichsen, Jim Peters, Donald Hansen, Wayne Pick and Steve Portz. Honorary pallbearers were Rev. Paul Wuebben, Ronald Amundson, Roger Langstraat, George Laughton, Frank De Haas and Donnell Engelbrecht.
