ERVIN J. BLAUE

Ervin J. Blaue, 63, of 800 4th Ave. SE, died early Thursday morning at Sacred Heart hospital after suffering several heart attacks. [April 1963]

Longtime owner of Blaue’s D-X service station and a tire dealer here, he had retired from business.

Mr. Blaue has been in ailing health since suffering a heart attack over a year ago. He suffered several more attacks this winter while on vacation in Florida and returned for care at Sacred Heart hospital. He had been hospitalized here since April 12.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist Church, with Rev. Milo Morris officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens under direction of Mauer’s Funeral Home.

Ervin John Blaue was born Oct. 5, 1899, at Gerald, Mo., the son of Henry C. and Mary Hollmann Blaue. He came to the Gaza and Sutherland vicinities in Iowa as a young man. He farmed until moving in 1936 to LeMars, where he had lived since.

His marriage to Alwayne Delaney took place Dec. 40, 1942, at Dakota City, Neb.

Mr. Blaue was a member of the Methodist church and Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Alwayne; four children, Mrs. N. W. (Dorothy) Ashmore, Mrs. C. D. (Donna) Pullen and Vernon H., all of LeMars, and Mrs. B. D. Carnine of Waukeegan, Ill.,; eight grandchildren; a brother and two sisters, Harry Blaue of Calumet, Mrs. Melva Albers of Primghar and Mrs. Olda Moise of Whittier, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant child and two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Voght and Vera in infancy.
