Janice C. Blankenburg, 49, DesMoines, formerly of Merrill, died Saturday (Nov. 5, 1988) in a DesMoines hospital after a long illness.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church at DesMoines. Rev. Philip Ritter and Rev. Thomas Krepps will officiate.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Resthaven Memory Gardens in LeMars.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today (Monday) in Westover Funeral Home, DesMoines.
Mrs. Blankenburg, the former Janice C. Vanderloo, was born Feb. 21, 1939, at Sioux City. She was raised at Merrill and graduated from Merrill High School. On Jan. 22, 1961, she married Wendell Blankenburg at Merrill. She worked for Continental Western at DesMoines for 20 years where she was a supervisor of premium accounting.
Mrs. Blankenburg was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of DesMoines.
Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Beth Jensen of West DesMoines and Angela Blankenburg of DesM; a granddaughter, Paige Jensen; five brothers, Virgil of Ackley, Stanley, Keith and Curtis, all of Merrill, and Richard Vanderloo, of Sioux City; two sisters, Bonnie Blum and Glenda Donlin, both of Merrill.
A memorial has been established in Mrs. Blankenburg’s name with the American Cancer Society.
