Lonnie R. Detloff, 37, of Le Mars, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 9, 2005, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Lonnie Ray Detloff was born April 6, 1968, in Le Mars, the son of Randall R. and Paulette E. (Beeck) Detloff. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at St. John's Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Le Mars. He attended school in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1986. Following school, he went to work for Wagner's Auto Supply in Le Mars for 10 years. Most recently he was employed at Piorier Equipment in Sioux City where he was the parts manager. He was united in marriage to Marla Miltenberger-Knobel on Oct. 9, 1998 in Le Mars.

He was a lifelong resident of Le Mars, where he was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and hunting. He was also an avid Florida State Seminoles football fan.

Survivors include his wife, Marla of Le Mars; three children: Allyson Detloff, Kyle and Nick Knobel, all at home; his mother, Paulette Detloff of Le Mars; his sister, Stacey Detloff of Le Mars; his father and mother-in-law, Ronald and Marjorie Miltenberger of Surprise, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Rhonda MacLeod of Phoenix, Ariz.; three nephews, Brady and Beau Detloff, and Mitchell MacLeod; and a niece, Amanda MacLeod.

He was preceded in death by his father, Randall on Oct. 7, 1998.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. in Le Mars with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, rural Le Mars. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today (Monday) with the family present after 6 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Casketbearers will be Rod Toben, Nick Beeck, Bill Fischer, Rick Schwebach, George Wagner, Brady Detloff and Brad McMillan.

Honorary casketbearerss will be Beau Detloff, Martha, Trent, Britney, and Skyler Toben, and Renae Henning.
