Harry Baerg
Harry Baerg, 60, of Le Mars, died Sunday (June 16, 1985) at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after a brief illness.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John’s American Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Rev. Tom Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in LeMars. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
Mr. Baerg was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Carson Township, Cottonwood County, Minn., to Peter and Elizabeth Krahn Baerg. He graduated from Butterfield (Minn.) High School and served two years in the U.S. Army. He married Lucille Martfeld June 4, 1950, in LeMars. He worked 16 years with Supersweet in LeMars and the last 10 years with the Iowa State Highway Department.
Mr. Baerg was a member of St. John’s American Lutheran Church, Wasmer Post 241, American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors are his wife; one son, Ricky of LeMars; his father, Peter Baerg Sr, of Butterfield; three brothers, Melvin, of Butterfield, Bernard of Bingham Lake, Minn., and Peter Jr, of Worthington; and two sisters, Mrs. Louie (Esther) Swatcky of Warroad, Minn., and Mrs. Clayton (Alma) Pudwell of West Covina, Calif. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Marvin.
