LE MARS, Iowa – L. W. Andy Anderson, 79, of LeMars died Friday, February 25, 2000, Floyd Valley Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A., with the Reverend Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Mauer-Johnson funeral home in LeMars.

Mr. Anderson was born February 18, 1921, on the family farm in Union County, South Dakota, the son of William and Anna (Schroeder) Anderson. In 1932, the family moved northwest of Akron, Iowa, and later to a farm near LeMars. He received his education in LeMars.

He married Edna Marie Trobaugh on February 2, 1944, at St. John's Lutheran Church in LeMars. They farmed until 1958 when he then went to work for Parks and Anthony Trucking. In 1970, he worked for the Remsen elevator, retiring in 1982.

He belonged to St. John's Lutheran Church, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1381 of LeMars. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife of LeMars; five daughters, Mary Ann Hartman, Joyce Roeser and her husband Vince, Diane Anderson, John Vander Well and her husband Dan, and Debbie Anderson, all of LeMars; a son, Dennis of LeMars; six grandchildren, Brenda Pierce, Bruce and Brent Hartman, Chris, Kyle, and Katie Anderson; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viona Headid of Sioux City, and Evelyn Stream and her husband Harold of LeMars; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons, Bradley and Byron Hartman.

Pallbearers will be Brent Hartman, Chris and Kyle Anderson, Rick Stream, Jeff Kayser and Gene Stinton.
