Violet M. Anderson

HAWARDEN, Iowa – Violet M. Anderson, 84, of Akron and formerly of the Hawarden, Iowa, area, died Friday, December 31, 1999, at the Akron City Convalescent Care Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden with Reverend Dean Shelly of the Hawarden United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in LeMars, Iowa. Visitation will be today, with the family present from two to 3 p.m., at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Miss Anderson was born December 18, 1915, in Union County, South Dakota, the daughter of Peter and Emma (Williams) Anderson. She grew up in and attended schools in Hawarden. She was a housekeeper for families. She made her home in many places including Sioux City; Ruble, Iowa; and for 25 years in Florida. She moved to LeMars in 1995 and two the Akron Convalescent Care Center in October 1999. She was a Methodist. She enjoyed nature, particularly flowers, and traveling.

Survivors include two sisters, Nellie Keehn, of Sioux Falls, and Lillie Bursick. Of Newburg, Ore., and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, six half brothers and one half sister.
