John Ahrendsen
John Ahrendsen, 81, LeMars, died Monday (April 30, 1984) at Plymouth Manor Care Center, after a long illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. John's American Lutheran Church at LeMars. Reverend William Striepe will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery at LeMars, under direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of LeMars.
Mr. Ahrendsen was born May 20, 1902, at Dagebull, Germany, to Jacob and Christina Clausen Ahrendsen. He came to the United States in 1922 and had been a resident of the LeMars area since that time. He was a retired farmer.
He married Rena Huls September 10, 1930, at rural LeMars. She died in 1980 at LeMars.
He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Leland (Pearl) Cambie of Alton; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Nis, Carl and Peter, and a sister, Caroline.
