Mrs. John Ahrendsen

Mrs. John (Rena) Ahrendsen, 77, LeMars, lifelong Plymouth County resident, died Tuesday (September 30, 1980) at her rural home after a short illness.

The couple observed their golden wedding anniversary, September 10, 1980, at which time Mrs. Ahrendsen was hospitalized in LeMars.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars with Pastor Thomas Lee officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens near LeMars, under direction of the Mauer funeral home in LeMars.

Rena Margaret Huls was born August 5, 1903, at rural Akron to Henry H. and Hilke Bohms Huls. She was a lifelong resident and member of St. John's Church.

Her marriage to John Ahrendsen took place September 10, 1930, at her parents home in Preston Township, rural LeMars.

She is survived by her husband of rural LeMars; a daughter, Mrs. Leland (Pearl) Cambier, Alton; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, John Huls of LeMars and Peter Huls.
