Peter Ahrendsen

Peter Gustav Ahrendsen, 60, Route 5, LeMars, died Friday at the Orange City hospital following a 16 month illness. [1968]

He was born, July 13, 1908, at Dagebull, Germany, the son of the late Jacob and Christine M. Clausen Ahrendsen. He came to the United States in 1923 and lived in the Merrill vicinity. He later moved to Struble and the LeMars area where he farmed.

His marriage to Vesta Lehrman took place May 2, 1934, in LeMars. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church. Rev. Lowell Boettcher will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens near LeMars.

Survivors are his wife, Vesta, two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Darlene) Feller, Garden Grove, California; and Bonita Ahrendsen at home; three grandchildren; a sister, Caroline Horeis, Fremont, Nebraska; and a brother, John Ahrendsen, LeMars.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Nis and Carl.
