Roy Rounds Dead at 83

LeRoy (Roy) Rounds, 83, lifelong LeMars resident, died Monday (Feb. 12, 1979) at Floyd Valley hospital.

Funeral services are pending at the Mauer funeral home in LeMars. His son, Alfred, who lives in Colorado, is expected to arrive today.

LeRoy Rounds was born here to Mark and Elia Butcher Rounds.

He was married to Anna McKettrick on Feb. 15, 1921. The couple had lived on their farm just north of LeMars for 57 years.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Methodist church. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the American Legion and Last Man’s Club.

Survivors include his wife, Anna; a son, Alfred; and several grandchildren.
