Mrs. Aylward's Services Held
Services for Mrs. Mary Aylward, 84, of Emmetsburg, were held Tuesday morning at Assumption Catholic Church and burial was held at St. John's Cemetery here.
Mrs. Aylward is survived by her husband, George, and five children: Mrs. Bernadette Houlihan of Harpers Ferry, Sister Catherine Aylward of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Loretta Carrolla of Milwaukee, Wis., and Patrick Aylward of Minneapolis, Minn. Mrs. Aylward was preceded in death by one son, Joseph, who was killed in World War II.
Mrs. Aylward, who was married for more than 57 years, is also survived by 23 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a sister, Ann Joyce of Waukon.
Pallbearers were Tom Houlihan, Bill Carrolla, John Carrolla, Pat Aylward, Kevin Aylward and Mark Carrolla, all grandsons.
Mrs. Aylward was a school teacher until her marriage in 1911 and she was a member of the Gold Star Mother's Club.
