“Daily Republic”, Mitchell, South Dakota, Wednesday, 22 February 1950.

“Mrs. Flora Richards Soloman, 89, a long time resident of Mitchell, died Tuesday afternoon at 604 W 2nd. Funeral arragnements under the direction of H. Noble are incomplete. She is survived by 3 daughters: Mrs. Zora Irwin, and Mrs. M. W. Irwin, both of Long Beach, California and Mrs. Don Braught of Dallas, Oregon: also a granddaughter, Mrs. Harold Anderson of Mitchell.”

“Daily Republic”, Mitchell, South Dakota, Thursday, 23 Feb 1950.

“Funeral services for Mrs. Flora Richards Soloman will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Noble Funeral Home.”

Flora Vestella (Knapp) Richards Soloman was born in September 1861 in Yates County, New york to Charles Knapp and Hannah Hanson, and departed this life on February 21, 1950 in Day County, South Dakota. She married first Franklin Vernette Richard. To this union four daughters and one son was born: Frank Lee, Zoe Adeline, Esther Fay, Abby Vernette, and Laura Gertrude, who died young. Franklin Vernette died in 1922. A few years later, Flora married Simon W. Soloman in Douglas County, South Dakota. Soloman died in 1942. Her body was interred in Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell, South Dakota.
