Nicholas Brennan is Dead.

Mr. Nicholas Brennan, who lived at the home of his brother, John Brennan, some distance from Graettinger, died rather unexpectedly last Friday morning of heart failure. He told his brother that he was not feeling very well and the latter drove to Graettinger with him to consult a doctor. The physician found his condition serious and ordered him taken to a room as soon as possible, saying he could live but a short time. He had barely time to arrange his business and spiritual affairs when he passed away. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon. The remains were brought to St. Thomas church in this city where brief services were held, after which they were laid to rest in St. John's cemetery beside those of his brother Patrick, who died a number of years ago. The day was cool, but quite a number of old friends and neighbors came down from Graettinger and vicinity to attend the funeral. Mr. Brennan was born in the county of Kilkenny, Ireland. He received a good education in his native country and was keen, observing, and ready. He came to this country about twenty years or so ago and lived for some time at the home of Patrick Nolan near Riverdale. He spent a few years in the Twin Cities. When his brother Patrick died, he came to Graettinger and subsequently made his home with his brother John. He was never married. He was an uncle of P. P. Nolan, of Graettinger, and M. N. and Miss Maggie Nolan, of this city, and Mrs. W. T. Kane, of Estherville. We never knew the deceased, but we have heard many speak kindly of him. They say he was warm hearted, courteous and honest.
