Mrs. Roche is survived by one son, Paul, of Emmetsburg. Also surviving are a sister, Mary Bywater of Riceville, and four grandchildren, John and James Roche of Emmetsburg and John and Robert Portsman of Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband, a well-known local druggist, who died March 16, 1962; and a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Porstman of Phoenix, Arizona.

All who knew Mrs. Roche will learn of her death was sadness. She was kind and generous and always good company. She had a good sense of humor and a ready wit, and even in her declining years was young in spirit. Mrs. Roche scoffed at work or any hardship, and she was devoted to her family and took great pride in grandchildren.
