Mrs. Mike Conlon Services Held at Assumption

Funeral services for Mrs. Mike Conlon, 82, a lifelong resident of Emmetsburg were held Monday at 10 a.m. at Assumption Church with the Rt Rev. Monsignor W. F. Mason officiating. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery with Martin’s in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Conlon died Saturday at the home of her son, Floyd.

Mary Irene Downs was born in Great Oak Township May 20, 1880, a daughter of George and Sarah Downs. In 1911 she married Mike Conlon at the Assumption Church in Emmetsburg. They were the parents of two sons, Floyd and Gerald.

For the past four years she had made her home with her son, Floyd, and his family. The Catholic daughters of America of which she was a long time member, attended the funeral services in a body. Mrs. Conlon was preceded in death by her husband and son, Gerald.

Survivors include her son, Floyd, and five grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters and one brother, Mrs. J. P. Hand of Emmetsburg, Mrs. Ray Greengo of Seattle, Washington and Harold Downs of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Pallbearers included Matt Conlon, Vincent Conlon, Michael J. Conlon, Maurice Malloy, Francis Kennedy and Elmer Friedel.
