Wallace Rouse Services Held at Curlew Baptist

Funeral services for Wallace Rouse, 66, of Curlew were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Curlew. The Reverend LaVern Bartell officiated. Burial was in a Rush Lake Cemetery, south of Curlew. Schellhammer's of Mallard were in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rouse suffered a heart attack Thursday at a hospital in Mason City and died Friday afternoon.

Born April 26, 1896, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Rouse, he married Mary White of Mallard November 30, 1921. She died February 10, 1930. In April, 1935, he married Dorothy Rankin. She and three children survive.

They are Earl of Curlew, Mrs. Calvin Mcelmurry of Oxnard, California and Mrs. Dick Bartlett of Burbank, California. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Claus Johnson of Havelock, Mrs. Clifford Ferguson, Mrs. John Johnson, and Mrs. Lucy Grice of Emmetsburg. His parents and three brothers preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were all nephews of the deceased: Arnold White, Wallace Grice, Roland Johnson, Wayne Rouse, Merle Rouse and Vernon Rouse.
