Funeral services for Jesse Billingsley Morgan, 78, of Emmetsburg who died Sunday Palo Alto Memorial Hospital were held last Thursday at Ellsworth -- Beiter funeral home and from the Methodist Church in Ayrshire.
Dr. Roscoe Jerrell will officiate at the services and burial will be in Valley View Cemetery at Graettinger.
Born at Dexter, Pennsylvania, February 11, 1884, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Morgan. On April 21, 1919 he married Myrtle Ruby at Guthrie, Oklahoma. They lived in Oklahoma before coming to Palo Alto County 36 years ago. Mr. Morgan was a farmer until he retired about 13 years ago.
Survivors include his four children: Hugh Morgan of Ayrshire, Cecil Morgan of Webb, Mrs. Maurice Smith of Emmetsburg and Mrs. Donald Woods of Sunland, California. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Nettie Lashik. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers included Gene Herber, Russell Tostenrud, Holger Miller, Carl Wolfe, Joseph Doyle and Paul Carpenter.
During the services Joseph Helgevold, Lorene Swanson, Jean Hill and Floyd LeGore sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Someday We’ll Understand," accompanied by Julie Rouse, organist.
