Frank Leinen, son of Charles and Minnnie Leinen, was born in Ashton, S.D., on April 9, 1913. He lived his youth, attended school and grew to manhood in this vicinity.

He was united in marriage to Ardyce Hitchcock of Melvin, Iowa on July 9, 1939 at rural Melvin. Their entire married life was lived in Melvin where Frank was employed with Graves Construction Company of Melvin, a position he held for 43 years. He retired in 1979 and continued to make his home in Melvin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardyce on October 3, 1980. He entered the Marian Health Care Center of Sioux City, Iowa on December 7, 1981 and passed away there on December 9, 1981 at the age of 68 years and eight months.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lee William (Sherry) Pierson of Ord, Neb., one son, Charles and his wife, Mavis of Spencer, Ia., four grandchildren, two brothers, Lyle of Redfield, S.D., and Richard of Rapid City, S.D., and one sister, Marge Jensen of Owatonna, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ardyce, and one sister, Frances.

He was a member of the Melvin United Methodist Church of Melvin, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 12 at the Melvin United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Hansen officiating.

Casketbearers were Lyle Muilenburg, Clarence Winkel, Orlo Jordan, Kenneth Weness, Carol Hentritter and Mike Leifgen.

The congregation sang, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "How Great Thou Art" with Mrs. Roy Van Houten as organist.

Burial was in Baker Township Cemetery, Melvin with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge.
