Mrs. Helen Conkey passed (can't read) home in Sanborn on Saturday July 1st, at the advanced age of 85 years, 5 months and 21 days. Funeral services were held at the home at 6:30 o'clock Monday evening and the remains were taken to Lansing, Iowa, for interment. Rev. W.H. Lease, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted the services here.

Helen Marr Walcott was born at Trent, Canada, January 10, 1834. On November 12, 1853, she was united in marriage with Orin S. Conkey, who passed to his reward February 28, 1883. To this union were born five children, two of whom, Mrs. Ida Bellows, of Lansing, Iowa, and Mrs. J.H. Daly, of Sanborn are deceased. The children living are: H.O. Conkey, of Sault St. Marie, Mich., Effie A. Conkey, Sanborn, and Mrs. J.F. Kerberg of Sioux City.

Mrs. Conkey was well known and highly respected in this community and many friends unite in expressions of sympathy to those who now mourn her loss.
