Theodore Pranger, age 90, of Ocheyedan, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at the Country View Manor in Sibley.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at the Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan, Iowa. Rev. Bill Van Der Heide officiating.

Burial will be at 9:30 A.M. Saturday at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley.

Visitation will be Friday, March 2, 2012, from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. all at the Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan.

In Lieu of Flowers the family would like memorials directed to Alzheimer's Research.
Theodore "Ted" Pranger was born on November 4, 1921 in rural Sibley, Iowa. He was the son of John and Jennie (Schwier) Pranger. He lived his youth in the Sibley, Iowa and Bigelow, Minnesota areas. In 1943, Ted moved with his parents to a farm in the Ocheyedan, Iowa area now known as the Willow Creek Park. He attended the same country school for all eight years of his education.

He was united in marriage to Sadie Smits of Round Lake, Minnesota, on October 26, 1944. They moved to their farm in rural Ocheyedan in 1946, where they continued to live and farm. Ted enjoyed traveling, gardening and tinkering in his shop. He enjoyed working on his own machinery and also did electrical and plumbing work for his friends. He was the Wilson Township Clerk for 40 years. During the years of their married life, Ted and Sadie, read the entire Bible 58 times. Sadie passed away on November 12, 2002. Ted continued to live on the farm until October of 2005, when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, and moved to the Country View Manor in Sibley.
He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Ocheyedan where he served as an elder. He was a former member of the Christian Reformed Church of Bigelow, Minnesota where he served as a deacon. Ted also served as the Christian School Treasurer.

He passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the Country View Manor of Sibley, Iowa.

Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter and son-in-law: Lorene and Ted Bruxvoort of Middleville, MI; two sons and daughters-in-law: John and Deb Pranger of Wyoming, MI, Bill and Renee Pranger of Ocheyedan, IA; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie, and his parents.
