Marilyn Glade, age 77, of Ocheyedan, Iowa passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at her home in Ocheyedan.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan, Iowa. Rev. Russell Anderson officiating.

Burial in Ocheyedan Township Cemetery in Ocheyedan.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. all at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan.

Marilyn Alice Glade was born on November 30, 1934, in Ocheyedan, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ottomar and Edna (Ostermann) Leckband. She lived her youth in the Ocheyedan area and attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School and Ocheyedan High School where she graduated. She attended one year of college.

She was united in marriage to Richard Glade of Ocheyedan on July 9, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan. They lived in rural Ocheyedan. Richard passed away on July 9, 1997.

Marilyn was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan.

She enjoyed having her family around, gardening, rocking on her porch, playing piano, solving cryptograms, watching game shows, sewing, her coffee club friends and spending time with her classmates. She enjoyed trips to Alaska, Cancun, a riverboat ride down the Mississippi and bus trips.

Marilyn passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at her home in Ocheyedan.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Kerry and Karen Glade of Ocheyedan, IA, Kim and George Hiveley of Lake Park, IA, Kris Glade of Ocheyedan, IA, Kelly and Dan Hartwig of Ocheyedan, IA, Lisa and Dale Carrigan of Lake Park, IA, Dwight and Mitzi Glade of Ocheyedan, IA, Tony and Laurie Glade of Ocheyedan, IA, Michael and Elise Glade of Sioux Center, IA, Dana and Terry Butler of Spirit Lake, IA; 25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother: Larry and Vonna Leckband of Ocheyedan, IA.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard; her parents; two sons: Kevin Glade and Darren Glade; one great-grandson: Christian Brockshus.
