In Response To: Hermance to Maxwell, Story County, Iowa (Lola)

A very nice write up about the HERMANCE brothers is quoted on pg. 200 & 201 in the book "The Orphans & Their Precious Cargo " by Clark Kidder. And a picture of Frank & Charles is on pg. 207. You may purchase this book through any book store , even on-line from your computer or directly from Clark Kidder 2805 N. Wuthering Hills Dr. Janesville, WI. 53546. It is a paper back book. A list of the children & the families who took them to raise is also on pg. 200. They arrived in Maxwell, Iowa on 18th May 1905.
You may also contact edwards1@fbcom.net which is the new location of the Iowa Orphan Train Research Center I began here in our home in Rolfe, Iowa .
You will need to contact the Orphanage that the children came from (Childrens Aid Society) in New York to obtain any biological information they may have. Be sure to send A brief summary of what you are searching for & a SASE. See my former web site @ iagenweb.org/iaorphans/ for more assistance & addresses.

Good luck with your search.
