GRIFFIN, KATE AND GRIFFIN, NORA

My great grandmother Kate Griffin appears in the 1880 Census with the David Hess family in Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa. I am trying to find information about this family and also the names of Kate's birth parents in NY.
Kate's sister Lenore may have also been placed out in Iowa. There is a "Nora" Griffin in the 1880 Census in Maquoketa, Jackson Co., Iowa with the Rodney Mason family. I would like to know if Nora is Kate's sister.
