Mrs. Geo. Magee was Buried Here Monday

The remains of Mrs. Geo. Magee were brought here Monday for burial in the Sanborn Cemetery. Rev. Stanworth conducted short services at the cemetery and the body was committed to the grave in the family lot beside that of her husband.

Mrs. Eliza (Nina) Howell Magee, daughter of Reuben and Almira Howell, was born at Emeliasburg (sic), Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada on August 25, 1874. She came to O'Brien county, Iowa, with her parents in 1882. They settled on a farm three miles southwest of Sanborn.

In November 1889, she married George B. Magee. They lived on a farm for several years, then moved to Sanborn where they built the home now occupied by Geo. Irving. Twelve years ago they moved to Sioux City. Mr. Magee passed away at Sioux City April 12, 1934.

Mrs. Magee is survived by three children, Mrs. Genevieve Grosz of Menno, South Dakota, Mrs. Gladys Holland, Sioux City, Iowa, and Elmo H. Magee, LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Magee passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Grosz at Menno, South Dakota October 30, 1837. Remains were taken to Sioux City by the Larkin Undertaking Company, where Geo Servill conducted funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Monday, and they were brought immediately to Sanborn for burial.

Mrs. Magee was a member of the Methodist church and Royal Neighbors Lodge of Sanborn and VFW Auxiliary of Scotland, SD. She will be remembered by a host of friends in Sanborn as a kind and loving woman.
