Services held for Isaac Thompson

Funeral services for Isaac Thompson were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 1993, at the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home in Paullina, Iowa, with Rev. Stephen Kamprath officiating. The pallbearers were Mike Thompson, Tom Knight, Duane Reimers, Dale Christians, Norman Laue and Paul Wade. Interment was at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina, Iowa, under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home of Paullina.

OBITUARY

Isaac Thompson, the son of Christian and Serena Benson Thompson, was born June 27, 1897, in O'Brien County near Paullina, Iowa. He received his education in O'Brien County Dale Township #7 and later at Mapleside Friends School.

On June 30, 1920, he was united in marriage to Lillie Stangeland at her parents home in Paullina. After their marriage, the couple farmed northeast of Paullina for many years before his retirement in 1965. His wife preceded him in death on June 1, 1974.

On November 27, 1976, he was united in marriage to Lydia Standing at the family home in rural Paullina. After their marriage, the couple made their home at Mapleside. She preceded him in death on May 19, 1987, in Earlham, Iowa. Isaac remained at his home in rural Paullina until entering the Wide View Rest Home several weeks ago. He passed away at the home on Wednesday, February 10, 1993, reaching the age of 95 years, 7 months and 13 days.

He was a past president of the Town and Country Saddle Club and his; enjoyment were in horses and his gardening.

Isaac leaves to cherish his memory one son, Ivan and his wife, Carol Thompson of Paullina; two step daughters, Reva and her husband, John Griffith of Kansas City, Missouri, and Wanda and her husband, Roy Knight of Earlham, Iowa; two grandchildren: Mike Thompson and Noreen and her husband, Dale Christians; step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wives, parents, four sisters and eight brothers.
