On Saturday, October 26, 1901, at his home six and one-half miles southeast of Hartley, occurred the death of J.A. Moore, aged 33 years 9 months and 4 days.

He was born in Keokuk county, Iowa, January 22, 1868, came to O'Brien county in 1894, was married July 6 898 to Miss Agness B. Teakle, when they settled to housekeeping on farm on which he died. Mr. Moore has been a patient sufferer from that dread disease, consumption, for the past few years. Just never gave up hope, was always cheerful and ever attentive to his wife and infant child, whose welfare seemed to be his only thot. [sic]

He leaves a wife and one child, a father and mother, five brothers and five sisters to mourn his death, besides a sorrowing neighborhood. Two sisters preceded him to the other shore where he has gone to greet them.

Services were conducted by Rev. J.A. Carlstrom at the home, Sunday afternoon, October 27 at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Hartley Cemetery.

The Herald extends its sympathy with a host of friends.
