Services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hartley for Marvin Strampe, on Tuesday, August 28 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Francis Mennenga officiated. Casket bearers were Merlyn Peters, Orlynn Strampe, Kurt Strampe, Kenneth Lange, Louis Lange and Robert Strampe. Burial was at the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley. Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Marvin Strampe, the son of Fred and Mary Dobbertin Strampe, was born August 15, 1913 at Paullina, Iowa. He attended country schools near his childhood home.

He was united in marriage to Gladys Milz at Hartley on December 4, 1935. They farmed near Hartley for many years, retiring a few years ago and moving to town. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Hartley.

He passed away at Cleveland, Ohio on August 25, 1979 at the age of 66. Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, Ernest, Albert and Raymond, and one sister, Ida.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gladys; one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Barbara Strampe of Salem, Ohio; three grandchildren, Steven, Matthew and Hope; three brothers, Fred of Paullina, Delbert of Sioux City and Andrew of Omaha; five sisters, Frieda Dance and Hilda Lange, both of Paullina, Mrs. Carl (Mildred) Kruse of Calumet, Mrs. William (Irene) Schuenke of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Earl (Evelyn) Clay of Hartley; many other relatives and friends.
