Services Held For Delbert Strampe

Delbert W. Strampe 72 3330 Virginia St., Sioux City, died Friday November 28 at St. Luke's Medical Center after a long illness. Services were held at 1 p. m. Monday December 1 at the Nelson Berger Northside Chapel and at 1 p. m. at the Sutherland United Methodist Church. The Rev A. T. Washington of the First United Methodist Church officiated. Marcia Engelke was vocalist and Elaine Leonard organist at the Sutherland service. Pallbearers at Sutherland were Earl Clay, Harry Hinz, Orlynn Strampe, Louis Lange, Bill Winckler and Martin Strampe.

Burial was in the Waterman Cemetery near Sutherland.

Mr. Strampe was born December 29, 1907 in O'Brien County Iowa. He married the former Viola A. Hilburt [Hilbert] in Nebraska in 1931. They moved to Spencer Iowa in 1943 then to Sioux City in 1944. He was a route salesman for Continental Baking Company from 1944 until his retirement in 1969. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include the widow one son Rodney of Iowa City, Iowa, two brothers Fred of Paullina and R. H. of Omaha Nebraska, four sisters Mrs. William (Irene) Schunke of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Mrs. Hilda Lange and Mrs. Archie (Frieda) Dance both of Paullina and Mrs. Earl (Evelyn) Clay of Hartley, and four grandsons.
