A graveside service was held Saturday for Asenith Cope, former resident of this community, At 88 years of age, she had lived a useful life, most recently in the Whittier, Iowa community, where her husband (John) and three children (Ellen, Keith, and Curtis) continue to live.

Coming from a distance for the Friday overnight and Saturday were also Curt's wife, Winifred, and daughter Kimberly, Asenith's two sisters, Orpha Hall and Celia Cope; niece Evelyn and Theo Montgomery of Salem, Ohio, and Russell Henderson of Earlham, Iowa. John, Ellen and Russel were overnight with Joe Henderson, the rest were at Galen and Mary Ellen Tjossems's. Coming just for Saturday were Lowell and Joan Cope of Lincoln, Nebraska, Bob and Laura Cope of Omaha, Nebraska, and Byron and Dottie Augspurger of Des Moines.
