Services Friday for R.W. Hoper

Funeral services for R.W. Hoper, 77, who passed away Monday, April 15, at the Hartley Community Hospital, will be held Friday, April 9 at 1 a.m. Baumgarten Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and service will be held in the United Church of Christ in Hartley. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Mr. Hoper was born in Remsen, Iowa, on April 7, 1891, and lived in Hartley all of his life after age six. He operated a well-known Blacksmith and Welding Shop in Hartley, first with his father and later with his son, Robert, until his enforced retirement following a stroke about eight years ago. Since that time he had been confined to his home.

His immediate survivors include his widow, Clara; a son, Robert; two daughters, Clarice and Mrs. E. Wallace McMullen; and brothers, A.C. Hoper of Hartley and Clarence Hoper of Denver; and five grandchildren.
