Marjorie Lucille (Bogaard) Duimstra (1913-1986)

Marjorie L. Bogaard, the daughtr of A.D. and Gertrude (DeHaan) Bogaard, was born at Hospers, Iowa, on December 30, 1918. She spent her youth on a farm near Sheldon and attended school near Archer.

On September 21, 1935, she was united in marriage to Jacob K. Duimstra at Sheldon, Iowa, and to this union three children were born. Jack and Marj have resided in in Orange City and Sanborn during their married life and for 12 years Maj was the food service director at the Sanborn Community School.

She passed away at Baum Harmon Memorial Hospital at Primghar, Iowa, on December 13, 1986 at the age of 72 years, 1 months and 13 days.

She is survived by her husband, J.K. Duimstra of Sanborn; children: David of Des Moines, Iowa; Daniel of Frankfurt, Germany, and Debora Sanberg of Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren; five brothers: Richard Bogaard of Little Rock, Iowa; Victor Bogaard of Santa Cruz, California; Molo Bogaard of Sheldon; David Bogaard of Kaiser-Slten, Gemran; and two sisters: Leone Vander Woude of Coralville, Iowa, and Norma Ginert of Santa Cruz, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Marjorie was a member of the First Reformed Church at Sanborn, the R.C.W Guild, and Hope Circle.

Funeral services were held December 16 at First Reformed Church at Sanborn with Rev. Gerald Osland and Rev. William Haak officiating. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn with Sanborn Funeral Home in charge.
