June Rebecca Stofferan was born June 10, 1913 in O'Brien County, Iowa, to John L. and Laura Mondabaugh, being the youngest of ten children. On August 3, 1933, she as united in marriage to Elmer W. Stofferan in Sioux City, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple settled in Sheldon, Iowa, before moving to Primghar in 1957. She was a homemaker, minister's wife, and one-time owner of the Trading Post, a consignment store in Primghar.

She passed away on Friday, September 14, 2001, at the Primghar Care Center where she had been a resident since December of 1999. June reached the age of 88 years, 3 months and 4 days.

June is survived by two daughters, Lorena and her husband John Byrd of Primghar, and Wanda and her husband David McCord of Wichita, Kansas; a son-in-law, Eugene Ricker of Florida; also eight grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Stofferan on November 10, 1990 in Primghar, who was self employed in the house-moving and construction business, and who served as the minister of the Primghar Church of Christ for 25 years. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Paula Ricker, parents, and her brothers and sisters.
