Last Rites for Mabel Hinz held Tuesday

Funeral services for Mabel Hinz were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hartley Tuesday morning, October 8, with Rev. John Schauer officiating. Burial was at Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley, with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. The casket bearers were Wally Petersen, Mike Peters, Arnold Pahl, Dennis Unrau, Gale Bobolz and LeRoy Raabe.

Mabel Augustine Hinz, the daughter of Fred and Lillian Dixon Egdorf, was born on a farm in Baker Township in O'Brien County, Iowa on September 11, 1911. She was educated in rural schools near Paullina. Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Max Hinz at Paullina on September 24, 1930 by Rev. J. Hartmeister. They farmed in the Paullina area until moving to a farm near Hartley in 1939. They retired and moved to town in 1972.

Mabel was a faithful member of St Paul's Lutheran Church at Hartley and the Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Emanon Federated Women's Club of Hartley and was always a loyal supporter of her church.

She passed away at the hospital in Hartley on October 5, 1985 at the age of 74. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 1982 and one brother, Roy.

Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Feldt of Redwood Falls. Minnesota, Mrs. Dale (Marlene) Nagel and Mrs. James (Peg) Ebel, both of Hartley, and Mrs. Delbert (Joann) Hurley of Round Lake, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest Egdorf of Boyden and Raymond Egdorf of Hinton; two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Franzen of Brewster, Minnesota and Mrs. Dora Puhrmann of Paullina, as well as many other relatives and friends.
