Services held for Amanda W. Pauling Strampe

Services for Amanda W. Strampe were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 1964, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Germantown, Iowa, with Rev. Charles Kramer officiating. The pallbearers were David Pauling, Alvin Pauling, Lyle Pauling, Vernon Pauling, Eldred Pauling and Lynford Pauling. "Just as I am" and "Heaven is My Home" were sung by Betty and Fred Schuknecht and "My Hope is built on Nothing Less" was sung by the congregation with N.H. Behrens at the organ. The final resting place is at Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina, Iowa. The arrangements were under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY

Amanda W. Strampe, the daughter of Henry and Sophia Ebel Pauling was born June 25, 1901, in O'Brien County. She attended schools at St. John's Lutheran-School in Germantown. On February 15, 1922, she was united in marriage to Fred H. Strampe in Paullina. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Germantown area for many years before moving into Paullina in 1954. She continued to make her home in Paullina until entering the Baum-Harmon Hospital in Primghar and passing away on Sunday, September 2, 1984, reaching the age of 83 years, 2 months and 7 days.

She was baptized on July 14, 1901, and confirmed on April 5, 1914, and was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown. She was also a charter member and honorary member of the Ladies Aid of the Church.

Amanda leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Fred of Paullina; one son, Orlynn and daughter-in-law, Luella Strampe of Paullina; and one daughter, Verla and son-in-law Clarence Hibbing, of Paullina; also 4 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Edwin Pauling of Lamberton, Minnesota arid Walter Pauling of Paullina; and one sister, Mrs. Ida Hoger of Hartley; also a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and five brothers.
