Henry Lindermann [sic Lindemann] throughout] Passes Away

The death of Henry Lindermann of this place was announced Sunday morning from Sioux City by telegram., The message, while sad to hear, was one that was expected by the relatives and friends who were acquainted with the gentleman's condition when he left last week for the hospital at Sioux City. Mr. Lindermann prophesied the result of a second operation and made the remark when he departed for the hospital that it would be just as well to go to the cemetery. He realized fully his condition.

Several months ago he was compelled to resort to a surgical operation on account of a peculiar formation of the bowels and the operation was successful, but complications of another nature arose and it was known that there was no possibility of recovery. Mr. Lindermann was very little known outside of a small circle of friends. He was generally a busy man and did not make acquaintances so readily as many. But those who were intimate with him speak well of his character and all seemed to admire his kind, open-hearted disposition.

Henry Peter Lindermann was born in Holstein, Germany. Died July 15 [sic 16], 1904. Age, 67 years and 6 days. Came to this country in 1884 and has made his home in and near this place ever since. A portion of the time he lived near Marcus, Cherokee county.

Mr. Lindermann was married in Germany and his wife and three daughters and a son are the living relatives. The widow lives in Paullina and the daughters are scattered about in various of the country. Mrs. Jurgen Kock and Mrs. Wm. Pauling were the only ones who could be present at the funeral. Mrs. Chas. Hoppe, another daughter, lives at Grand Junction, Colorado. Chris Lindermann, a son, resides in Minnesota.

The services were conducted in the German language at the Lutheran church here Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. H. Schaller being in charge. Interment was made at Prairie View cemetery
