Herman Kuester Passes Away Sunday Morning
Ill But a Short Time; Farmed Near Germantown for 18 YearsHerman Kuester, age 46, passed away at his home west of Germantown, Sunday morning, February 20th, at 4 30 o'clock. His death was quite sudden as he had only been ill for a short time. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock from the home and at 2:00 from the St. John's Lutheran church in Germantown, with Rev. J Hartmeister officiating.
Deceased leaves a wife and four children, besides a large number of other relatives.
Mr. Kuester was an ex-service man, having served in the army during the world war He was born May 17th, 1891.

1891- Herman Kuester - 1938Herman Kuester was born in Caledonia Township on Sunday May 17, 1891. The following Sunday he was baptized in the Germantown church by the pastor Rev. E. Zuerrer. He was the son of Christian Kuester and his wife, Louise, nee, Richter. He lived all his life in the Germantown Community, except for the period that he was serving as a soldier in the World War I.
On the tenth of September, 1920, he was married to Miss Emma Koehlmoos by the Rev F. W. Potratz. One child preceded the father in death, two sons and two daughters with their mother remain to mourn his early departure.
He died after a short illness of one week on Sunday morning. February 20, 1938, at the age of 46 years, 9 months and 3 days.
He was buried in the Germantown Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. J Hartmeister of Paullina officiating at the funeral.
