Memorial services were conducted for Elsie A. Adolph on January 27, 1998 at the Sanborn Funeral Home at Sanborn. Rev. Jani Dahlin officiated. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery of Hartley.

Elsie Amelia Messer, the daughter of John and Catherina (Minkel) Messer, was born at Dysart, Iowa on September 1, 1901. She lived her youth and received her education at Dysart, graduating from Dysart High School.

She as united in marriage to Ervin Linder on November 11, 1920 at Hartley, Iowa. Mr. Linder died on April 2, 1948. Elsie married Al Adolph on August 28, 1966 at Hartley, Iowa. Elsie's married lifetime has been spent in the Hartley community. Mr. Adolph died on July 4, 1982. Elsie entered the Mann Memorial WIng on October 2, 1991, and she died there on January 25, 1998.

Elsie is survived by one daughter, Lavaune Stopsack of Hatley; her grandchildren: David and Joy Stopsack of hartley, Val and Dan Moermond of Hartley, Scott and Marsha Linder of Miami, Florida, Sue and Ben Dicken of Lakeville, Minnesota, Rich and Kris Keene, and Dave and Kris Keene, all of Hartley, Vonda and Vern Salyer of Las Vegas Nevada; 14 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one son, Marlyn Linder in 1963, and all of her brothers and sisters.

Elsie was a member of the Hartley United Methodist Church and the church Circle. She will be remembered for her love of gradening, caring for her roses, fishing, playing cards, knitting, chrocheting, and making quilts. Elsie's family was a very important part of her life.
