Marjorie Lucille Kahl, the daughter of Isaac and Ora Tjossem Henderson, was born November 29, 1921 in Paullina, Iowa. She attended country schools and later graduated from Paullina High School. She then went on to attend the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing. During World War II, she served in the Army, being one of the first nurses on the beach during the Normandy invation.

In 1964 she moved to Point Reyes, California, and a year later moved to Petaluma, California. She as employed as a registered nurse at the Novato Community Hospital for thirty years. She passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 1996, reaching the age of 74 years, 9 months, and 18 days.

She was a member of the California Nurses Association, a supporter of public TV; she enjoyed opera and other music, games, parties, and travel; and was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan.

Lucille is survived by two daughters: Kathleen Kahl of Petaluma, California, and Christine Kahl of Morgan Hill, California; one son, Kevin Kahl of Pacific Grove, California; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Pingrey of Sac City, Iowa; and two brothers, Verne Henderson of Brookline, Massachusetts, and Dr. I. Craig Henderson of San Francisco, California; also a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
