Henry S. Moeller was born in Scott County June 6, 1849. His boyhood was spent in Scott county where he received his education in a country school. He was united in marriage to Alvina Schumann September 17, 1877. To this union were born Anna, Mrs. Steffens, and Henry of Moneta.

In 1894, he and his family moved to Ida county and from there he moved to O'Brien County in 1903. He resided in Holstein for nine years, and moved to Moneta twenty-one years ago in October.

Mr. Moeller devoted his life to Horticulture becoming an authority on that science. He was a quiet and kind man, a good husband, faithful father and esteemed neighbor.

He was baptized in the Lutheran Church and was a faithful member and dilgent worker in the church.

He leaves six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, Tillie Moeller, and one son-in-law, R.F. Steffen. His brother and two sisters have preceded him in death.

The funeral was held in the Temple funeral home Friday with Rev. Thompkins of Spencer in charge. Interment was made in the Hartley cemetery.
