Alice R. "Maizie" Laue

Funeral services for Alice R "Maizie" Laue were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 20, 1995, at the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina, Iowa, with Rev. Donald Freeman officiating. The casket bearers were Ed Beennann, Weber Clayton, Bob Soukup, Don Hurtig, John Strack and Robbie Soukup. Interment was at the Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina, IA, under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBJTUARV

Alice Roberta Laue, the daughter of Glen W. and Lottie Maysonholder, was born January 2, 1911, in Sioux City, Iowa. She received her education in Sioux City schools and graduated from Sioux City Central High School. She then went on to Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska. She received her teaching degree and taught school in Larrabee, Iowa, and Akron, Iowa, schools.

On June 7, 1941, she was united in marriage to Delmar R. Laue in Sioux City, Iowa. After their marriage the couple settled in Sioux City where she taught in the Sioux City schools. In 1946, the couple moved to Paullina where she was involved with her husband in the operation of the Paullina Cement and Tile Factory, until their retirement.

Her husband preceded her in death on October 12, 1976, in Hartley, Iowa. She continued to make her home in the family home until moving to the Wide View Rest Home in Paullina in May of 1991. She passed away on Friday, November 17, 1995, at the Baum-Harmon Hospital in Primghar reaching the age of 84 years, 10 months and 15 days.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina.

Maizie leaves to cherish her memory, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, and one brother.
