Services Held For Vernell Hoermann

Funeral services for Vernell Hoermann, 48, of rural Gaza were held on Sunday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran Church of Paullina. Mr. Hoermann passed away Friday, May 27 at his residence following an apparent heart attack.

Pastor Wm. Timm, associate pastor of the Zion Lutheran church, officiated at the services. Pallbearers were Marvin Hartong, John Hinz, Elmer Stangeland, Henry Van Heuvelen, Walter Henderson and Rodney Johannsen. The congregation sang three hymns accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Hibbing as organist. Mrs. Bernard Bennett and Mrs. Clarence Johannsen were in charge of flowers. Burial was in the Prairie View cemetery under the direction of the Gaudian Funeral Home.

Mr. Hoermann was born Oct. 1, 1928 at Germantown. He attended schools in the Paullina area, and was graduated from the Paullina high school in 1947.

He married Betty Bruns on June 25, 1950, at Germantown.

Mr. Hoermann farmed in the Paullina-Primghar area and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Paullina.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Mervyn of Walcott; two daughters, Miss Carol of Norfolk, Nebr., and Mrs. Dennis (LaVonne) Zahrt of Everly; his mother, Mrs. Etta Hoermann of Paullina; and two brothers, Gerald of Hartley and Harlan of Paullina.
