EDWIN HENRY HOGER

Edwin Henry Hoger, the son of Herman and Dora Siemsglusz Hoger, was born in Baker Township, O'Brien County, Iowa on June 7, 1907. He passed away at the Hartley Community Memorial Hospital on April 16, 1971 at the age of 63 years.

He was raised near Germantown and attended St. John's Lutheran School there. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

At Germantown on September 22, 1935 he was united in marriage to Ida Pauling. To this union was born one daughter. The couple lived and farmed south of Hartley, Iowa, all of their married life.

He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Sutherland, Iowa.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ida; daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence (Carole Jean) McClean of Franklin, Wisconsin; one brother, Albert, of Paullina; one half-brother, Elias, of Waterloo, Iowa; one step-brother, Arthur Daniels, of Sheldon, Iowa; and one step-sister, Mrs. Frank (Elenora) Hinz, of Paullina; other relatives and his many friends.

Services were held Monday. April 19 from Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland. Rev. Leroy Reimer officiated.

Pallbearers were Walter Grimberg, Ray Niebuhr, Walter Richter, Herbert Fiddelke, Ray Strampe and Arnold Wohlert,

He is at rest in Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina, Iowa.

Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
