Dean Einerwold Services

Memorial services were held Friday. Feb. 4. 1982 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church. Sutherland, for Dean Einerwold, 63. Rev. James Nicholson officiated.

The hymn "Going Home" was sung by soloist Jacob Moermond. with Anna Jordan accompanying on the organ.

Casket bearers were: Francis Carnahan, Bill Burns. Gail Boardman. Al Jensen, Lloyd Scherlin, and Mervin Richter.

Lois Samuelson and Karen Stettnichs were in charge of flowers.

The committal service was held at Waterman Cemetery. Sutherland.

O'Dean Martin Einerwold, the son of Ole and Martha Fjeld Einerwold, was born May 20. 1919 at Carthage, S.D. He attended county school near his childhood home and served in the United States Army during World
War Two.

He was united in marriage to Darlene Ginger on June 5, 1941 at Spencer, la. and they made their home at Sutherland. Darlene died in 1973 and Dean was married to Elizabeth Koehlmoos at Worthington. Minn. on Dec. 3. 1976. He worked for the Sutherland Creamery for 14 years and for O'Brien County for 17 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Sutherland and was a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post No. 152 of Sutherland.

He passed away at the hospital in Hartley on Feb. 2. 1983 at the age of 63. Preceding him in death besides his wife Darlene were his parents, two sisters and a son. Dennis Dean Einerwold as an infant.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elizabeth; two sons and their wives, Daryl and Elizabeth of Alta and Gary and Shirley of Cherokee; one stepdaughter, Linda Revell and one stepson, Jim Koehlmoos; five grandchildren; three brothers, Arthur of Ferndale, Wash., James of Howard, S.D., and William of Eagle Bend, Minn.; five sisters, Selma Thomson of Anacortes, Wash., Jennie Schnee of Carthage, S.D., Irene Lass of Howard, S.D., .Margaret Hegle of Pine City, Minn. and Gladys Nelson of Minneapolis, Minn., as well as other relatives and many friends.

Military Service Record

He entered service Feb. 15. 1944 at Camp Dodge, la. and served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant in the 105th Infantry.

His overseas duty was from Aug. 18, 1944 until Feb. 8. 1946 in the Pacific and he saw combat at Ryukyus.

He received his Honorable Discharge at the Separation Center in Fort Leavenworth, Kans. on Feb. 15, 1946.

Military services were conducted at the graveside by the American Legion Post No. 152 Sutherland. Iowa.
