Funeral services were held from the Seivert Funeral home at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, and from the Methodist church at 2:30 by Rev. J. F. Moore.

Burial was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Primghar.

Pallbearers were Thomas Hadden, Eli Parry, Rudolph Appeldorn, Victor Peck, Ray Raak and Charles Mast.

A mixed quartet, consisting of Donald Fritzsche, Jessie Hadden, Sheril Waund, and Byron McDowell, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Donald Fritzsche sang "Going Home"; Miss Elizabeth Reager accompanied.

Those attending from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wolcott, Betty Jean and Bob Wolcott, Gilmore City, Iowa; Mrs. A. E. Manley, San Gabriel, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Wayman, Mrs. Eulas Quinn, Mrs. Sarah Terryberry, Cherokee, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Leland McDowell, Hendricks, Minn.; and Mr. and Mrs. Lew Wilson, Hartley, Ia.

Lucy Ann Littlefield was born July 23, 1868, in Milford, Massachusetts. At the age of eleven years she came with her parents, Amaniel and Elizabeth Littlefield, one sister, and two brothers to Cherokee, Iowa, where they resided many years on a farm north of town.

She attended the Cherokee schools until the illness and death of her mother in 1889, kept house for her father and brothers, and did practical nursing ten years prior to her marriage.

On July 23, 1905, she was united in marriage to John F. Doyle of Primghar, Ia., and resided in Primghar since that time. With this marriage she assumed the role of mother to Mr. Doyle's four small daughters. Her main interest was in her home and family, always being a devoted wife and mother.

She was loved by her family, friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Doyle was a member of the Methodist church, the Ladies Aid, and the Willing Workers, her illness of the past few years preventing further activities.

She had been in especially poor health the past three years and had been cared for the past year in the Tanner Nursing Home in Primghar, where she passed away February 7, 1949, at the age of 80 years, 6 months and 15 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Laura Packard, brothers Frank and Fred Littlefield, and her husband, Mr. Doyle, who passed away February 10, 1936 - just thirteen years ago.

Survivors include daughters, Nellie Doyle of Primghar, Iowa; Mrs. Belva Wolcott of Gilmore City, Iowa; Mrs. Melva Manley, San Gabriel, Calif.; and Mrs. Mabel Barnett, Burbank, Calif.; three grandchildren, Bob Wolcott, Gilmore City, Ia.; Betty Wolcott, Webster City, Iowa; and Donald Wolcott, Stockton, Calif.; also several nieces and nephews.
